Let’s increase our heart rate

By: Aileen Baxter

Every day see if you can take 1-2 minutes to do some light exercise to increase your heart rate. This could be a brisk walk, running on the spot or jumping jacks, it can be anything you are comfortable with.  After the brief exercise, sit down and out both hands over your heart.  Close your eyes and try to feel each and every heartbeat.  Observe your breathing and see what else you notice about your body as the pace of your heartbeat and breath changes.   The exercise is designed to bring awareness to the inner workings of your body and focus your mind on what is happening with it right at this moment.
