Finding the awe

By: Aileen Baxter

When was the last time you were wonderstruck?  When you couldn’t help but soak up the sheer scale or beauty of something?  Children readily have these moments but for busy adults it is often a rare occurrence. This week, the aim is to bring more awe into our lives. As places start to open up take the time and go somewhere, a forest, a building and look around with fresh eyes as if seeing these things for the first time. Let the wonder of these things take you over.  Look at a tree, the beauty of it, from the scale of its age and height, to the intricacies of the design from the leaves and the bark. Think about how these things make you feel.  Does time slow down? Does it help put your daily concerns into perspective?  Take as many opportunities as you can this week to experience awe and appreciate the many wonders of the world.
